  • MBS and Platte Media
    November 2008
We have seen a couple of computers, in the past month or so, that have been "infected" with a wonderful piece of software, produced by MBS and/or Platte Media. If you suspect you may have been a "victim" of this, you can find removal instructions here.
  • Slug Server Update
    July 2008
A year after this project's inception, I felt it time for an update.
The Slug Server is soldiering on faultlessly. Running a cut-down version of Linux, it is currently acting as a Web and Backup Server.
A decision was made not to host our website on it, purely for reliability reasons (if our internet connection dies, so does our website), however we have several development websites on it that are running nicely.
The Backup Server allows us to backup our client's systems. This happens automatically, securely, and with no fuss, across the internet.

After a lot of consideration, and an in-depth review of the statistics, we have decided to relocate; well over 90% of all issues can be solved via a remote connection.
Our offices are now in Dorset. Details are on the Contact Us page.
  • Website is Up and Running (finally!)
    July 2007
We finally got everything into place and our website is now fully up and running. (yippee!) Unfortunately, we have still haven't changed ISPs so the website will have to remain externally hosted for the time being. (hey-ho)
  • Off-Site Backup
    July 2007
As part of our Slug Server setup, we have been working on a further project in the shape of a an off-site backup system. This will mean that our customers will be able to have the peace of mind of a completely safe and secure, managed Disaster Recovery solution. Unfortunately, due to on-going disputes with our ISP (Internet Service Provider), this is not available yet, however we hope to be dumping our ISP in the very near future!
  • Slug Server
    July 2007
Taming IT have been working on a project to get a very cheap server in place. This is not only great for us, but also really good news for our customers. There are still some details to work out, especially to do with the extent of its abilities (virtually endless) and its load capabilities. We hope to be able to offer this as a solution to our customers in the fairly near future, allowing them to purchase a full-featured server at an exceptional price.
